It is designed by the Cambridge architectural firm Russell, Scott, Steedle & Capone and the general contractor is Milford-based Plumb House.

Grand Opening Takes Place for Danvers Apartments
Avalon Danvers, a community with apartments, condos and commercial space, has officially opened on the grounds of the former Danvers State Hospital.
The development includes 433 apartments; 64 condos for people 55 and older; and 125,000 square feet of commercial space, including an outpatient medical facility managed by Northeast Healthcare Systems.
AvalonBay Communities was selected as the developer of the site in 2002 after an extensive search by the state.
Located at the junction of routes 62 and 1, the site includes two parcels of land: the Highlands and the Lowlands. The Highlands is comprised of about 55 acres and is set atop a large hill known as Hathorne Hill. The Lowlands portion, comprised of 20 acres, is located at the base of the hill adjacent to Route 62. The Highlands is the home of the former Danvers State Hospital.

Developer Chooses Company to Track Heating
Bourne-based Onset Computer Corp. has teamed with a Bridgewater developer to track performance of home heating and cooling systems that are being installed in a new East Bridgewater development.
Wayside Farm, which includes 66 Colonial-style homes, features geothermal heat exchange systems. The systems take advantage of temperatures deep in the earth to help keep the home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Water is pumped through a loop down a 300- to 400-foot well and back up to a heat exchanger in the basement.
The developer chose a HOBO U30 Remote Monitoring System, which is manufactured by Onset Computer Corp., to monitor indoor and outdoor temperature and relative humidity as well as power usage of the geothermal unit, well pump and the entire home.
